Drilling, Buffing & Coloring

Drilling for attachments (catches and the like) is undertaken at this point. This highly precise work is done with maximum care and precision to enhance the value and life of each piece.

Handcrafting jewelry coloring is done by Toni and involves acid etching to get a clean surface, rinsing and then placing in a bath with electricity to cause the surface to oxidise beyond what it would do naturally. This creates an an optical surface - the clear oxide refracts light to produce the vivid and simply magnificent colors.

Through vast experience, Toni produces a range of simply stunning colors. By varying the voltage a thicker layer is produced and thus a different colour.

Batik Process Used For Handcrafting Jewelry

For patterns and designs in the coloured surface, a Batik-type process is used. A resist protects the surface from voltage and acid and then further coloring is done, then the resist is removed. At this point engraving is done on some pieces to give a highlight or define lines. This is laborious handwork completed by Toni.

The piece is then cleaned thoroughly in preparation for spotwelding.

All fittings are spot welded as titanium cannot easily be welded/braised. Our Tie pins, catches, hinges and eyes are all spot welded. This provides the highest quality and best result for our customers.

Cleaning, Packaging and Posting

Once again a thorough clean is completed for each individual item. Both Toni and Philip hand-check each and every piece of titanium jewelry that leaves the farm to ensure they meet our very high standards of workmanship.

Each item is then individually packaged and wrapped for posting.
